Day Eighteen - Last Day Posting for 2nd Class

Today we had a postage adventure, desperately trying to meet the 2nd class postage deadline, not helped by the Royal Mail man collecting early!  Cue us chasing around Wick trying to get the cards sent on time!

But there have been many other things happening today, too!  Here's some:

Pictures 1, 2, 3 and 4: I've been really getting to grips with Christmas wrapping, but sometimes two hands just aren't enough!  In order to avoid disruptions to my wonderfully tidy - cough, cough - work space, the old Santa's Workshop sign was pinned up.  And finally, a little something I discovered hiding under the table and beside the radiator!

Pictures 5 and 6: We finally caught up with the post at the sorting office, after insisting that the ladies at the Post Office didn't keep hold of our cards (thus making them late), but topped up the postage so we could post them ourselves.  I think they thought we were crazy, but they were very nice!

Picture 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12: The Railway Room saga continues.
The first picture was hung on the wall by Daddy, and the theme is coming together well.
All the tessellating boxes are tucked under the staging, and they're not the only things! There was also a tiny Judith tucked away there, only visible by its slippered feet.

Picture 13: Whilst sorting the Railway Room, we came across this chap.
Seemingly he became disillusioned with being a cowboy, chopped off his arm and took to acting.
Here he is in Hamlet.  "Alas, poor Yorick..."

Pictures 14 and 15: The Fimo Crib
This was made almost a decade ago with the purpose of being used when we went away for Christmas (this has only happening once, in 2009).  Today, only two days after decorating day, we finally set it up.  It may not be the most *accurate* nativity in terms of scale, but it is certainly amongst the most imaginative!

Pictures 16 and 17: The first hamper shop.  Each year we make a themed hamper for Christmas, but as part of the theme this year there were no foods from England allowed.  Clemency was sad to discover that all her favourite foods were English!  But, being good sisters, we knew how to make her smile - we buried her under the shopping in the car!

Picture 18: And for the final picture, a blast from the past.  Facebook pointed out it is five years ago, which means it was Orlando's first Christmas... Where has that time gone?!

24th December: The Final Preparations

Picture 1: Orlando has loved all 11 of his Christmases so far! Picture 2: And another crazy Orlando tail!  ...
